Which examples, tests and model documentation make an open AI codebase easier for a new contributor to understand?

The strongest examples are specific about the audience and the tradeoff. I would also record the before-and-after result so the advice stays useful.
That is a useful distinction. A short checklist and one real example would make this even easier for another member to apply.
